What Are We Putting on Our Skin?

Posted in: Dermal Fillers Published: February 10th 2020

Our skin is really our largest organ! Which means a large percentage of what we put on it gets absorbed by the entire body, from shower gel to body cream and mesotherapy products.

Why do we apply products to ourselves in the first place? To feel good about ourselves and to improve how we look. We want to feel invigorated and energetic, the same way you feel when you’re walking through a hotel spa.

With so many new techniques available to us, through facial rollers and even dry brushing, there is something out there for you! What we put on or ‘in’ our skin doesn’t just apply to products.

Dry Brushing

Adding dry brushing to your morning routine, twice a week, only takes a few minutes and will make your mind and body feel awake instantly. The pressure applied through a dry brush should make it feel invigorating whilst you swipe it over your body. It exfoliates your skin making it super soft. The key is to create long strokes towards the heart, the same way blood flows back through the veins.

Most people will dry brush before they shower, (hence the dry term) and will always follow up afterwards with some of their favourite body butter moisturiser, preferably one that is rich in Vitamin C.

If your skin is sensitive, dry brush only every fortnight.

Hyaluronic Acid

This amazing ingredient is truly incredible due to its biocompatibility, and biodegradability which makes it safe to be inside our skin. It breaks down naturally inside the skin, through the metabolic system, which means our body accepts it to be a safe natural component.

There is large debate as to whether hyaluronic acid, when applied topically does anything for the skin layers beneath. The hyaluronic acid molecule is said to be too large to penetrate through the skin. Apparently, it is described similar to a basketball trying to get through the eye of a needle! Yes, that certainly puts it into perspective for us. But really the most truly tried and tested method of getting hyaluronic acid to lift those wrinkles is through dermal fillers.

The best ingredient for topical solutions is by far Vitamin C! So if you have a mesotherapy product containing this nutrient, then keep applying it topically and real all its benefits! Daily application is best for long term visible healthy results!

At Filler World, we provide you a one-stop shop dermal filler destination.

We advise our products should only be administered by licensed healthcare practitioners after purchase.
